Leigh Richards

PhD, LMHC, LPC

Leigh works with two connected groups: the family members whose own lives are impacted by a loved one's condition and people living with anxiety, OCD, or ARFID. She founded Applied Counseling Group to provide focused, evidence-based care in an area where generalist treatment often falls short.

Leigh holds a PhD and a Master's in Mental Health Counseling and trained at the Anxiety Institute. In the years since, she has expanded her focus to include the relational side of mental illness, helping people who live with a challenging loved one, whether they're struggling with depression, anxiety, autism, ADHD, dementia, or something else.

Before becoming a clinician, Leigh built a career in financial technology and organization design. She holds a Master's in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University, where she also trained as a certified coach. That background shapes how she works: her approach is strategic, collaborative, and oriented toward action.

The practice is based in Westchester County, NY, and Leigh is licensed to serve clients across New York, Connecticut, and Florida via telehealth.
