SPACE Parent Group

Helping anxious children by working with parents

SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) is a research-supported, parent-based treatment for children and adolescents with anxiety, OCD, and related challenges. Developed at the Yale Child Study Center, SPACE works directly with parents, so children do not need to participate in treatment.

What we'll work on
  • Understanding family accommodation
  • Responding supportively to anxiety
  • Reducing accommodations gradually
  • Communicating confidence in your child's ability to cope
  • Making changes that fit your family

Guided Parent Support Group

For parents raising children with emotional or behavioral challenges: autism, ADHD, anxiety, OCD, sensory needs, and more.

Parenting a child with emotional or behavioral challenges can be exhausting and isolating. This is an hour each week with parents who understand.

Topics we may explore
  • Our stories
  • Judgment from the outside
  • The feelings we don't talk about
  • How to care for yourself
  • Acceptance and moving forward

This is not therapy or a parenting skills group. This is a place to discuss common experiences and share feelings and ideas.

This group is full and currently in progress. Groups are kept small and new groups form regularly.
